I was honored to have a new essay be published on Romper last month.
I have written here some about my son and the kinda-sorta-scary-slash-totally-terrifying pregnancy we had with him. This essay talks about that but then also my best friend from childhood that was the exact same amount of pregnant with me, and how by the grace of God she literally was at my house the DAY after we got the bad news about Shepherd. She thought she was just there for a little fun Florida Spring Break vacation, but she turned into the perfect distraction for Kyle and I during one of the hardest weeks of our life.
